State-run mining major Coal India Limited has secured a significant order from GRIDCO (Grid Corporation of Odisha) for the development of a 320 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Odisha, marking a strategic step into the clean energy and power storage segment.
The project aims to enhance grid stability and support the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind into the state’s power network. With increasing renewable capacity, energy storage systems like BESS play a critical role in balancing supply and demand, ensuring uninterrupted power availability.
