Canada’s Enervoxa Eyes India Rare Earths Project, May Partner with Vedanta, Hindalco and NALCO

New Delhi: Canadian clean technology and critical minerals company Enervoxa is planning to establish a rare earths project in India and is exploring potential partnerships with leading domestic metal producers, including Vedanta, Hindalco Industries, and NALCO. The proposed initiative is aimed at strengthening India’s critical minerals supply chain and reducing dependence on imported rare earth materials.

Rare earth elements are essential components in the manufacturing of electric vehicles, wind turbines, semiconductors, advanced electronics, defence equipment, and renewable energy technologies. As global demand for these strategic minerals continues to grow, countries are increasingly focusing on securing reliable and diversified supply sources.

Industry experts believe that a collaboration between Enervoxa and major Indian mining and metals companies could accelerate the development of domestic rare earth processing capabilities. Such partnerships could also support India’s broader strategy of becoming a global manufacturing hub for clean energy and high-technology industries.

The proposed project is expected to focus on exploration, processing, and value addition, while leveraging the technical expertise of international partners and the manufacturing capabilities of Indian companies. If finalized, the collaboration could contribute to the development of a robust ecosystem for critical minerals within the country.

Analysts note that India’s growing electric vehicle market, renewable energy expansion, and semiconductor ambitions are likely to drive long-term demand for rare earth elements. Investments in domestic production and processing facilities are therefore considered crucial for ensuring supply security and supporting industrial growth.
