US Army Bases to Host Critical Minerals Processing Plants in Major Domestic Supply Chain Push

The United States is preparing to establish critical minerals processing facilities at selected Army bases as part of a broader strategy to strengthen domestic supply chains and reduce reliance on foreign sources of strategic materials. The initiative is designed to accelerate the onshoring of mineral processing capabilities that are essential for defense systems, clean energy technologies, and advanced manufacturing.

The plan involves identifying military installations with suitable infrastructure to host commercial mineral processing plants.
