The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Chitranjan Kumar for the post of Director (Technical) at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited.
According to official information, Kumar was selected following a rigorous selection process conducted by PESB, where multiple candidates were assessed based on their experience, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities in the coal and mining sector.
If approved, he will take charge of overseeing technical operations at ECL, including mine planning, production efficiency, safety measures, and implementation of advanced mining technologies. The role is considered crucial for enhancing productivity and ensuring sustainable mining practices within the organization.
Eastern Coalfields plays a key role in Coal India’s operations, particularly in the eastern region, contributing significantly to the country’s coal output. The appointment is expected to strengthen the company’s technical leadership and support its operational goals.
The final appointment will be subject to necessary approvals from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
