Hindustan Zinc Signs MoU with Tripura Group to Operationalise Manufacturing Unit in Rajasthan

Hindustan Zinc Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tripura Group to operationalise a manufacturing unit in Rajasthan, strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem and reinforcing India’s domestic manufacturing push.

The proposed unit will focus on downstream and value-added manufacturing, leveraging Rajasthan’s established metal and mining infrastructure. The collaboration is expected to enhance local supply chains, improve capacity utilisation, and support the development of ancillary industries around Hindustan Zinc’s existing operations.

Under the MoU, the Tripura Group will invest in setting up and running the manufacturing facility, while Hindustan Zinc will provide strategic support, technical collaboration, and assured linkage to raw materials and logistics where applicable. The partnership aims to accelerate project execution timelines and ensure operational efficiency.

The project is also expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region, contributing to skill development and local economic growth. Rajasthan’s investor-friendly policies, connectivity, and availability of skilled manpower were key factors influencing the location decision.

Industry observers view the agreement as part of a broader trend of metal producers partnering with manufacturing groups to deepen downstream integration, reduce import dependence, and create resilient domestic value chains aligned with national manufacturing objectives.
